Better title: “How to Talk to People Without Pissing Them Off”
Despite being written by a woman, this piece at The Good Men Project reeks of the “Women are sensitive flowers whom we must speak to in soft, soothing voices lest we crush their delicate psyches” canard. All you have to do to expose the underlying sexism is replace every instance of “woman” with “person”. For example, this:
Clearly, openly criticizing a woman is a good way to piss her off. You probably already know that. But there’s a subtle, indirect form of criticism that can also get you into trouble: dogging a woman’s opinion.
Becomes this:
Clearly, openly criticizing a person is a good way to piss them off. You probably already know that. But there’s a subtle, indirect form of criticism that can also get you into trouble: dogging a person’s opinion.
See how still true that is?
