Nick Rynerson, writing for Christ and Pop Culture, comments on the decision of a Florida judge that a man who believes himself to be the reincarnation of Jesus is sane enough to be executed:
It is safe to say that one of two things is happening here. First (and most probable) is that somebody… wants this criminal dead and by golly, he’s gonna get him. Or second, the public at large has completely lost any grip on Christian doctrine and a guy claiming to be Jesus is mistaken for basic orthodoxy.
I’m not sure which of those things I’d rather turn out to be true.
